ORCAS kick-off New
Season
with awesome swims and times!!
What a way to start
the season. Thanks to everyone who made this meet happen and a special thanks to
all the swimmers who graced us with all their great swims.

The
2001 Orca time trials
were a success!!
Thank you to everybody who pitched in and
helped make time trials go as smoothly as possible. This was our first "meet" of
the season, and our first meet ever at the Terra Linda High School. And what a meet it
was! Except for a few small glitches, we all did a great job, weve worked out the
bugs, and now were ready to host our first dual meet this Saturday against Scott
Valley.
Congratulations to all our swimmers who showed up on time,
warmed up, and got into the right places at the right times to swim their events. Now that
we have swim times, we can seed the swimmers appropriately into the correct heats.
Were all looking forward to a great meet this Saturday.
If you have signed up to help with the meet, be sure to fulfill your commitment.
Were counting on you to run a fun and efficient swim meet.
And dont forget Pasta Power night this Friday beginning
at 5:00 at the Terra Linda Rec Center. See you there!
The Smile of the Terra
Linda ORCAS
The 2001 season is a go!!
The ORCA Sign-ups brought together old friends and new families. My, how much
everyone has grown! The morning was blessed with a warm spring sun and fresh spring
air. Yes! the ORCA swim season has begun. Practices are at Terra Linda High
school.
Topping the fabulous weather
were the swimmers' smiles. These athletes were bubbling with excitement and
eagerness to get started with swimming again; combine all this then we'll have the best
team in the league. I think we're in for a special season.
Thanks to all the parents who
signed up for the volunteer positions and thanks to the ORCA board members who helped in
setting up and running this event - and thanks Mike for the donuts.
Go ORKUZ!!!

Volunteers
Wanted |
| What a
team! Did you know that it takes approximately
100 parent volunteers to run one single swim meet?
We were enthused with the results of our new volunteer sign up process this
year. Most other teams in the Marin Swim League already use this method of
scheduling volunteers. Thank you to those of you who honored the new system!
We've filled about 90% of our positions, so unfortunately, we haven't reached
100%. If you still haven't signed up, you will definitely be contacted.
Remember, volunteering is a necessary requirement.
Questions? Want to volunteer more? We still need help! Please call Mike Pauley
@ 479-5042. |
The Orcas Swim Club is a non-profit
organization.
